Claudia’s Duo

I had this in my “drafts” From July 2014 and I guess I never posted it???  Yikes!  Read on…

I think Claudia is one of the sweetest people I know.  She is quiet, so you’d never guess that she hides a great sense of humor.  Claudia is the one who let me draw wheat fields all over an earlier quilt of hers.  And, guess what?  She gave me 2 more quilts to quilt for her!  After hijacking her last quilt, I understand if she never gives me another quilt to quilt for her.  But she did.  🙂

Here is a jelly roll quilt she made.

She cleverly wanted the border fabric repeated in the quilt design.  I wasn’t able to mimic it just right, so I settled for this.  I don’t know if you can see the border fabric, but it has what looks like the spokes of wheels all over it, similar to the quilting design below, but with a circle in the middle.

Another quilt Claudia made is this one.  Isn’t it cute?

Here’s an up close picture of the stitching.  I was tempted to stitch little birds all over, but I’m glad Claudia wanted flowers instead.  I think quilted birds would have competed with her applique birds, and they are too cute not to be noticed!

Claudia wanted an allover design (E2E – Edge 2 Edge) on each of these quilts because they would get good use.  I think that was a good choice!  What do you think?
