A Fairy Tale

Judy made this sweet quilt for her granddaughter.  And, this was another fun quilt to quilt!  I mean, it’s pink, and a happy pink!  It’s a little girl’s dream, that little girl that still lives on in us grown-up girls.

The first thing I want to show you is the heart at the top of the quilt that Judy machine embroidered.  Please note that I “frosted” her granddaughter’s name to protect the innocent. Wouldn’t you feel so loved if your grandmother gave you a quilt with this on it?  I’d want to wrap myself up in my grandmother’s love!

Since this would be used and loved by her granddaughter, all it needed in the way of quilting was an allover or Edge-to-Edge quilting.  I have seen Judy’s granddaughter, and when I saw her she was wearing a T-shirt with a fairy on it.  So, I thought fairies all over this quilt would be wonderful.  Except… it would be hard to get the tiny details of the fairies in there without messing them up.  And, it would take forever to quilt.  So, instead, I put flowers and heart leaves all over it.

And, then I snack three fairies into that garden of flowers.  One was holding a big flower.

There’s not much to show off on this quilt, other than the quilt maker’s talent.  I really like Judy’s fabric and color choices and know I’d love to wrap up in it if I were her granddaughter.
