Fun Size Quilts is a collection of 17 Fat Quarter sized quilts made by a collection of designers: Pippa Eccles Armbrester, Jeni Baker, Natalie Barnes, Melissa Corry, Elizabeth Dackson, Victoria L. Eapen, Debbie Grifka, Julie Herman, Emily Herrick, Kimberly Jolly, Thomas Knauer, Cheri Leffler, Missy Shepler, Rebecca Silbaugh, Jocelyn Ueng, Heather Valentine, and Jackie White. Personally, I found this book refreshing, because it is full of small quilts about the size of a fat quarters. What a fun way to use up those fat quarters in our stash!
I think my favorite out of this book is Hedgehog Heyday by Cheri Leffler. Not only does Cheri give instructions and patterns for creating these cute creatures, but she also shows you how to make those flowers and stitch the embroidery on the faces. Too cute!
If you like animals on your quilts but would rather stitch patches together than applique, Fox in a Box by Jeni Baker is the quilt for you. It would be a quick quilt to make as a gift for yourself or others.
I thought Particularly Joyful by Victoria L. Eapen was interesting. Hexies have been the rage lately, but this one uses pentagons and elongated hexies, a nice change.
Skyline by Emily Herrick is a great little quilt to use up those jelly roll strips, don’t you think?
I hope you enjoyed the above pictures. You can find more pictures and purchase the book at Martingale’s website here. Many thanks to Martingale and their photographer, Brent Kane for providing this book and the pictures for your perusing!
