Who doesn’t have a stack of fat quarters or at least a few of them laying around, if used for nothing else other than decorations? If you don’t have fat quarters, this would be a good book for using up some of your scraps.
Scrappy Fat Quarter Quilts is a compilation of “Favorite Projects from Fons & Porter” with quilts designed by Lynn Roddy Brown, Elizabeth Hartman, Nancy Mahoney, Ashley Newcomb, Jean Nolte, Liz Porter, Edyta Sitar, Jean Wells, and Evelyn Young. You may have seen some of them in the Fons & Porter’s “Love of Quilting” magazine. In this book, you will find quilts of all sizes and projects for every skill level.
Cute pinwheels in fun colors on the cover of the book; could be used for a child’s quilt or an adult’s. The quilt below would be good for the quilter with a taste for modern or neutral fabrics.
I’ve seen the following quilt in several places. It reminds me of an afghan thrown on the back of a couch. I like the scrappy half-square triangles set in an interesting pattern.
I love the blues in the following quilt, but you could use any fabric. This one just reminds me of indigo and Japanese fabric, very soothing.
